I think the Issara will become very popular soon with Western tourists. I stayed 13 nights late November 2022. It's location is excellent within 80 metres of the new Itsaraphap MRT and about 500 metres from Wat Arun. There's a bus (57) outside hotel will take you close to the popular IconSiam which is a 30 minute walk from the hotel. There's a Big C extra about 15 minutes walk (or 57 bus journey) Wongwian Yai old railway station and market is about 25 minute walk or again number 57 bus ride if you wanted to travel to Mahachai and onto the Railway market The room I stayed in had everything I wanted. Good aircon x 2, a lobby, big room, fridge,tv. Bed was big and sleep quality good. Wifi very good throughout my stay. There was a breakfast/dinning area which has many tables chairs free coffee/tea, kettles, microwaves, oven, cutlery, pots, toaster, distilled water, toilet, sink to clean dishes. This is a great idea as you can buy 7/11 or supermarket food and cook yourself. There was a large 7/11 just finishing completion next door between the hotel and the MRT. Just 2 or 3 weakness's stops this accommodation being 5/5. TV stations all Thai and boring. I told the boss Kyle who said a Smart tv package was possible with Englsih speaking more sport channels. Secondly yes reception not manned for long periods and when it was manned it was a young lad who spoke no English. Kyle the boss is a good, easy going bloke, and I managed to negotiate discount being there nearly two weeks. But unfortunately he rarely seemed to be there. Finally being very leafy, plants, trees water features and when I stayed lots of rain, mozzies are everywhere and other not so delightful creatures. All in all the positives far outweigh the negatives and would certainly recommend this boutique style establishment. Monthly rental I believe is also possible at this place and can be negotiated with Kyle

This is my second stay at Issara House and an update on my last stay from 2016. Issara House sits in Bangkok Yai, a predominately Thai area, on the west side of the Chao Phraya River. It is a leisurely ten-to-fifteen-minute walk to Wat Arun, Temple of Dawn and around ten kilometres from the city centre which is easily reached by taxi and/or public transport. The establishment itself is divided into two sections comprising of twenty rooms that are spread over three floors (left and right sides of the courtyard as you reach reception). The reception desk was rarely manned. The area around the reception is quite inviting and well maintained, a bit of a chill area. You can bring food or cold drinks back and laze about on the chairs. There is also an area where you can help yourself to complimentary tea or coffee (no facilities in room for tea or coffee). There are also microwaves and a small oven to eat/cook food if you wish. Our room was on the upper floor and the WIFI was very sketchy, I had to continually dis-connect and re-connect, very frustrating. Apart from the WIFI issues the room itself was bright and airy, clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable for a good nights sleep. There are numerous Thai style eateries within the area where you can find very good food at reasonable prices. Can highly recommend the Wangderm Steak and Sushi bar in Wangderm Road, about 5 minutes’ walk from Issara House. A pleasant stay overall and a good option if you are on a budget.

Issara House is relatively new, being built in 2014. It sits in Bangkok Yai, a predominately Thai area, on the west side of the Chao Phraya River. It is a leisurely ten to fifteen minute walk to Wat Arun, Temple of Dawn and around ten kilometres from the city centre which is easily reached by taxi and/or public transport. The establishment itself is divided into two sections comprising of twenty rooms that are spread over three floors (left and right sides of the courtyard as you reach reception). During my stay the place was very quiet; I hardly saw another guest and the reception desk was rarely manned. This proved frustrating at times as I wished to garner some information on one thing or the other but was unable to do so. The area around the reception is quite inviting and well maintained, a bit of a chill area. You can bring food or cold drinks back and laze about on the chairs. There is also an area that looks like it may have catered for diners in the past but there were no dining options available during my stay. In this same area there is a complimentary tea/coffee station set up. My room was on the ground floor and was very clean and spacious. The AC worked fine and there was complimentary WIFI which also worked fine. Flat screen TV with mainly Thai channels is provided but no facilities in the room to make a cuppa, you will need to go to the dining area outside for this. The bathroom was also clean and spacious and the shower had good water pressure although the water temperature was only tepid. Issara House is set back down an alley about twenty or thirty metres from Itsaraphap Road which is generally quite busy and so it is easy to hail a taxi. A taxi to the nearest BTS Skytrain, Wongwien Yai, is a 50/55 baht ride away and takes only five to ten minutes. Make sure to take a hotel card with you when you leave so as to show to taxi drivers on your return as Issara House is a little hidden away. There are no shortages of local street food in the area but if you want something with Western options then turn right onto Itsaraphap Road as you leave the hotel and there is a restaurant on the corner of Wang Doem Road called Baan Khun Nine. It is less than one hundred meters away from Issara House and does good food at reasonable prices. There is also a 7/11 just around the corner. All in all I enjoyed my stay at Issara House and at twenty odd dollars a night, booked through Agoda, it represented excellent value.
